For three days, the police, the State Emergency Service, the Local Government and the CSOs of the Kherson Region jointly developed projects in the field of public safety and exchanged experience

On July 14-16, 2023, in Kryvyi Rih, representatives of the police, military administrations, emergency services, and public figures of 6 communities of the Kherson Region passed training on involving the public and emergency response services in the recovery and development of affected communities based on the approach of Community Policing and voluntary firefighting movement. 

The event discussed new approaches to the interaction between the community and the police based on partnership and their use in wartime. 

In addition to representatives of the Kherson region, the police and public activists from the Zaporizhzhia region were also present.


The successful practices of building a voluntary fire brigade and involving the population in the prevention of fires, emergency situations and events were presented to the event's participants. 

For three days, the police, the State Emergency Service, the local government, and the CSOs developed public safety projects and exchanged experiences interacting with the population and working in front-line and de-occupied communities. 

The Kherson region was represented by the Novovorontsovka, Visokopillia, Kochubeivka, Bilozerka, Stanislav, and Chornobaivka communities, where the Kherson Regional Charitable Fund "Union" will develop working groups on public safety and recovery within the framework of the UN Program in 2023-2024. 

The event was organized by the UN Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine within the framework of the "EU4Recovery - Community Empowerment in Ukraine" (EU4Recovery) project with the financial support of the European Union.
