An online webinar on Internet fraud was held for Kherson libraries.
During the webinar, participants examined common fraud methods Ukrainians encounter and practical ways to protect themselves from financial losses.
It is important to remember: there is no "typical victim". Fraudsters adapt their schemes to a person's specific situation.
At the same time, there are groups at increased risk:
- elderly people;
- teenagers and young people;
- IDPs;
- residents of front-line communities;
- military families;
- people seeking help or compensation;
- people in a state of stress, loss, or uncertainty.
18 librarians working in a front-line city improved their knowledge and skills in recognizing phishing attacks and dangerous fraudulent schemes.
Be careful: if you receive emails from strangers or are offered very favorable offers that you did not ask for or expect, this is a reason to be wary.
This webinar was organized by the Kherson Regional Charitable Foundation “Union” with the support of the European Endowment for Democracy (EED).
