We continue our "Conversations about restoration" with Artem Kostyuchenko, head of the NGO "Young - Initiative"
Before the full-scale invasion, the NGO was active in the Skadovsk community; during the occupation, they evacuated people. They are currently working with the de-occupied communities of the Kherson region on reconstruction and developing psychological support projects for children and parents.
In today's interview:
- The importance of psychological support for the population and why NGOs cover this need.
- The obstacles NGOs and volunteers face in their activities, the role of donors in their work, what could be improved, and what is critically lacking.
- How can a dialogue between NGOs, volunteers, and the authorities be established, and what is the role of the public in this process?
We also learned Artem's opinion about the role of business in the reconstruction process and to what extent the authorities are aware of the importance of supporting entrepreneurs' further involvement in the recovery of the economy.
