Representatives of condominiums and public organizations learned to monitor public procurement in conditions of recovery and reconstruction

Last week, our Fund conducted the training "Monitoring of Public Procurement in Conditions of Restoration and Reconstruction of Liberated Communities" in Kherson as part of the work of the Kherson Club of Active Citizens for condominium heads, representatives of public organizations, and city volunteers.

At the training, special attention was paid to forming the participants' understanding of the functioning of public procurement in Ukraine. Specific cases of using the E-data system and procurement monitoring in the Prozorro system in the Kherson region were considered.

A separate topic was the presentation of the capabilities of the YouControl analytical system for comprehensive analysis of counterparties in dozens of registers, which allows for the identification of potential corruption risks.

The training participants were very interested in today's purchases and tenders for the repair of shelters in high-rise buildings in the city. Open and completed tenders in the Kherson region were used for training, and their analysis was carried out to ensure compliance with procedures and evaluate companies that won these tenders.

The participants noted that monitoring public procurement is an important component of recovery because quality reconstruction cannot occur without the effective and transparent use of Ukrainian taxpayers' and international partners' funds.

The training also discussed topics of future training and meetings planned within the newly created Kherson Club of Active Citizens. In particular, the participants noted that it would be good to hold meetings with representatives of the State Emergency Service and the police to learn more about their work in the city. In addition, the following topics are important for future training: mine, fire, radiation, chemical and biological safety training, project design training, psychological self-help and self-regulation, digital literacy, etc.

This training is organized within the framework of the project "Kherson: on the Way to Кecovery" conducted by the "Union" Foundation as part of its project implemented under the USAID/ENGAGE activity, which is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by Pact. The activities of this Club are the sole responsibility of Pact and its implementing partners and do not necessary reflect the views of USAID or the United States Government.
