Representatives of 11 organizations working in Kherson and the region trained in anti-drone security
Kherson is experiencing systematic terror from Russian drones. While previous attacks were concentrated mainly on coastal areas, enemy FPV drones and “mavics” cover all corners of Kherson today.
The Russians are not only directly attacking civilian targets in Kherson (cars, cyclists, passersby) but also mining the streets, scattering “petals” and other improvised explosive devices (in the form of cigarette packs, for example, or other things attractive to adults or children). To avoid the deadly threat, residents have developed their own “survival instructions”: when it is best to move, which streets to avoid, where to hide in case of shelling.
In response to the threat, the Kherson Club of Active Citizens met again as part of the seminar “Types of drones, threats, human behavior, mine danger, means of electronic reconnaissance (drone detection), exchange of experience from Kherson residents”.
Representatives of 11 organizations working in Kherson and the region learned to identify drones and what to do during attacks. Representatives of Civil-Military Cooperation showed in practice how the Russians mine the streets of our city and explained the algorithm of actions in case of detection of suspicious objects.
The participants received valuable advice, taking into account Kherson's specifics — its open terrain, proximity to the front line, and regular attacks.
Although the authorities and international organizations continue to support the military in protecting the Kherson sky, the residents play a key role in maintaining the community's security. Self-organization, mutual assistance, and the exchange of experience are the basis of survival in a front-line city.
Drones can be a serious threat, but you can reduce the risks with the proper knowledge and approach. Stay careful, attentive, and ready for any situation!
