In April 2025, the second modern Safety Class was officially opened in the Bilozerka community.
The arrangement of both Classes was set up by an initiative group in cooperation with the Belozerka Military Administration, with the support of the USAID UCBI Project: Strengthening Public Trust in Ukraine and the Kherson Regional Charitable Foundation "Union".
The total budget for the creation of both spaces is UAH 1.5 million.
The Safety Class is not just a room for lessons; it is an interactive space where students master key skills in emergency situations.
The training program includes:
- algorithms of actions during an alarm, fire, or evacuation
- acquaintance with real examples of explosive objects
- basics of first aid
- rules of safe behavior at home, on the street, at school
- interaction with emergency services
Classes are held in an accessible and interactive format: using multimedia tools, thematic games, and practical demonstrations.
Classroom equipment includes:
- laptops for interactive work
- multimedia systems for video lessons and presentations
- information stands with safety instructions
- handouts: instructions, brochures, game sets
- training models: mines, fire extinguishers, first aid kits
- mannequins for first aid practice
- methodological manuals for teachers, developed together with specialists of the State Emergency Service
“We sincerely thank the USAID UCBI program and the 'Union' Foundation for their support and trust. Thanks to you, our children receive knowledge that can save lives. I would also like to express my special gratitude to the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kherson region for their active participation in the creation of the Safety Class and assistance in developing educational activities,” said the head of the Bilozerka Military Administration, Ihor Ostrivnyi.
The process of implementing the Safety Class itself became an example of effective participation: joint planning, residents' participation in developing ideas, voting, registration of the initiative, and attraction of resources.
