A meeting of representatives of condominiums, quarterly committees, the Main Department of the National Police in the Kherson region, the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in the Kherson region, and the Educational and Methodological Center for Civil Protection and Life Safety of the Kherson region was held in Kherson.
The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation in public safety and establish effective interaction between condominium heads, authorities, police, and civil protection services.
The Educational and Methodological Center for Civil Protection and Life Safety presented its current projects: “Interactive Center for the Formation of Security Skills—Security Class” and a modular office providing security services to the affected population.
Representatives of the State Emergency Service and the National Police shared their experience working with the population during emergencies in war conditions and answered questions from the heads of condominiums.
A representative of the Kherson City Administration spoke about approaches to informing the population about potential threats associated with military operations.
The participants discussed urgent needs:
— installation of video surveillance cameras in shelters of high-rise buildings;
— affordable fire extinguisher recharging;
— the need for instructions for actions in emergencies with neighbors with limited mobility;
— safety courses for heads of condominium associations and access to educational video materials for all residents of buildings.
Following the meeting, a separate information chat was created for quick information and coordination of actions for heads of condominium associations, the police, the State Emergency Service, and the National Emergency Center.
At the end of the meeting, our Foundation shared its experience: how we work within the framework of working groups on public safety and recovery in 6 deoccupied communities of the Kherson region.
Such meetings are not just conversations but a real, effective tool for interaction that helps to coordinate efforts and find quick and effective solutions for residents' safety.
At the meeting, each head of the condominium association received a fire extinguisher. Their acquisition was made possible thanks to the support of the Czech NGO NESEHNUTÍ.
We have already held similar meetings between the Educational and Methodological Center for Civil Protection and Life Safety, the Main Department of the State Emergency Service with public organizations of Kherson, and NGOs with the police. We plan to establish such interaction.
