The "Union" Foundation donated equipment and office equipment worth almost half a million hryvnias to communities

To support the activities of the Working Group on Public Safety and Recovery (WGPSR) in six communities of the Kherson region, our Union Foundation, with the assistance of UNDP Ukraine and the financial support of the Government of Denmark, purchased and transferred critical equipment and office supplies worth UAH 463,258 to the communities.

Among the equipment: laptops, TVs, multifunctional devices, batteries, a charging station, a videoconferencing system, drone detectors, and more.

This equipment is designed to enhance the work of the WGPSR in the Stanislav, Bilozerka, Chornobaika, Kochubeika, Vysokopillia, and Novovorontsovka communities.

The need to strengthen working groups with office equipment was clearly formulated by representatives of the deoccupied communities during the ninth meetings of the WGPSR in the communities, which took place in October this year. The participants emphasized that effective organization of work, operational document flow, and proper communication between the parties involved directly depend on access to basic technical resources. The communities identified strengthening security capabilities as a separate priority.

We have already twice supported the capacity of the working groups through the purchase of the equipment they requested in 2024 and 2025.

In addition to technical support, we also regularly organize training sessions and seminars to enhance the skills of the WGPSR members on issues most relevant to frontline and de-occupied communities. For example, during the recent two-day training "Creative Approaches to Problem Solving", representatives of military administrations, local governments, and the State Emergency Service of Kherson region learned to solve complex problems in communities through creative approaches to idea generation.

As a reminder, the WGPSR in six communities was created in the summer of 2023 by orders of the heads of the military administrations within the framework of the initiative "Kherson region: public safety and recovery in conditions of change", implemented by the "Union" Foundation with the assistance of UNDP Ukraine, with the financial support of the Government of Denmark.

To enhance public security and resilience in the Kherson community, the Working Group on Public Safety and Recovery was established, comprising representatives of the Kherson City Military Administration, the departments of civil protection of the population, healthcare, education, social and humanitarian work, the children's service, the department of economics and investments of the Kherson City Council, public organizations and charitable foundations, the Patrol Police in the Kherson region, the Kherson District Police Department, the Kherson District Department of Civil Protection and Preventive Activities of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kherson region, the Educational and Methodological Center for Civil Protection and Life Safety of the Kherson region.
