Every week, approximately 2,000 to 2,500 Russian drone strikes are recorded in the Kherson community alone. The overall intensity of all attacks on Kherson increased 2.5-fold in September compared to the beginning of the year, reaching about 6,000 attacks per week. Up to 20 people are injured in the city daily.
Despite the deteriorating security situation, municipal services and institutions continue to operate: they repair damaged utility networks, clear the aftermath of attacks, and restore infrastructure that Russians repeatedly destroy in an attempt to make life difficult for residents. Russian drone operators often employ this tactic of follow-up attacks, creating additional danger for crews already working at the site of a previous attack.
Ensuring the safety of municipal workers was a topic discussed at a recent meeting of the Working Group with the Kherson City Military Administration. Drone detectors, which help identify potential threats in time, are among the essential tools needed.
We handed over 20 "Dzyha" drone detectors to Kherson’s municipal services with the support of our partners at the "Razom for Ukraine" Charitable Foundation.
The need for other drone detection and countermeasures remains high, so we continue to seek partners and support to help make the work of Kherson’s municipal crews safer.
We thank the "Razom for Ukraine" Charitable Foundation for their prompt response and vital assistance to Kherson.
