The Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kherson Region received a drone and related equipment to survey the mined territory

As part of the network of working groups on public safety and restoration of the Kherson region, the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine received a DJI Mavic 3E drone and related equipment from UNDP to survey fields, forest strips and detect potentially dangerous areas for the presence of explosive objects. 

The initiative envisages the training of representatives of the Regional State Emergency Service on the use of purchased equipment, the preparation of plans and maps for the survey of territories, the holding of online seminars on mine and fire safety, the monitoring of territories, the detection of potentially dangerous areas for the presence of explosive objects, and the tracking of forest belts and fields in the Kherson region with using the purchased equipment, distribution of information leaflets, booklets on mine safety among the population of Kherson. 

The total amount of equipment purchased and transferred to the Regional State Emergency Service through our Fund is UAH 346,956.00.

The joint mini-initiative was called "SkyGuard: eyes of a safe community in the conditions of military operations" and aimed to increase the level of public safety of the residents of the Right Bank of the Kherson region by introducing new approaches to the safe detection of explosive objects and risks of fire in rural areas. "

"Using mechanized solutions, it is possible to significantly improve and speed up the demining process and increase the level of safety of the population, especially in rural areas," - note the representatives of The Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kherson Region.
