On July 16-17, 2024, a workshop on forming recommendations on information policy in the front-line communities of the Kherson region was held in the city of Uman.

Representatives from the communities where the Working Groups for Public Safety and Recovery (WGPSR) operate in the Kherson Region participate in the event.

The workshop's main task is to form recommendations for administrations regarding effective methods and approaches to informing the population, communication, and news coverage of the lives of communities in the front-line zones.

The results of the analysis of the representation of the WGPSR communities in the Google News search engine were presented to participants, the problems of coverage of military operations and shelling in the front-line territories were discussed, as well as recommendations for the positioning of the communities for an external audience were proposed. After the training, the communities will be asked to survey the residents of their settlements on several issues related to information, trust, and security in the communities through special software.

The workshop was held within the framework of the program "Kherson region: public safety and recovery in conditions of change", which is implemented by the "Union" Foundation with the assistance of the UN Development Program in Ukraine with the financial support of the Government of Denmark, provided within the framework of the Program for Reconstruction and Peacebuilding.
