The eighth meeting of the Working Group on Public Safety and Recovery (WGSR) was held in the Kochubeyivka community.
Representatives of the military administration, educational institutions, elder's districts, community police officers, the municipal enterprise, the public, and UNDP attended the meeting.
During the meeting, current and new initiatives were discussed that would be important for strengthening the community's public safety and social cohesion:
▪️ Strengthening the activities of the community police officer,
▪️Strengthening road and traffic safety,
▪️Developing barrier-free access to municipal facilities,
▪️Establishing youth zones and community hubs in the elder's districts,
▪️Repairs and staffing of shelters, installation of mobile shelters, and other ideas.
Members of the WGSR voted on initiatives that will be further prepared for implementation in the community.
The results of a qualitative study of the migration attitudes of Kherson region residents abroad, commissioned by the Union Foundation with the support of UNDP Ukraine, were presented at the WGPSR.
The WGPSR in the communities was created in the summer 2023 by orders of the heads of the military administrations within the framework of the initiative "Kherson region: public safety and recovery in conditions of change", implemented by the Union Foundation with the assistance of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine with the financial support of the Government of Denmark.
