We present to your attention an analysis of russian propaganda for December 2022, primarily aimed at residents of the Kherson region.
The report analyzes about 2,000 publications in thematic russian Telegram channels, with a total audience of 190,000.
The news of December 2022 is bragging about the shelling of Ukraine's critical infrastructure. The number of shelling of the liberated part of the Kherson region increased in December. The russian mass media continue to discredit the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ukrainian authorities. The Ukrainian people are not left without attention this month. Journalists and bloggers ridicule Ukrainians and their traditions. Ukrainians who are forced to seek refuge abroad receive the most. The russian news portrays them as boorish, greedy, and stupid, and women as lustful and frivolous. Ukrainians who do not accept anything russian are considered uneducated and called "pots", as if they try to emphasize that Ukrainians are empty-headed.
They insert everywhere the historical events in which russia is portrayed as a "powerful" state. russian culture and propaganda are built on the past, and russians are furious that Ukrainians do not want to play their game and do not take it seriously. Ukraine decides to gradually get rid of the culture imposed by russia. Ukrainians knock down monuments and rename streets dedicated to russian historical figures. The enemy considers these unacceptable actions and finds a way out; massive shelling and persecution of citizens in the occupied territories are called revenge, "sacred retribution". In this way, they are trying to justify the genocide they are committing on Ukrainian land.
