The "Union" Foundation in partnership with the National Police of Kherson Region, is conducting an information campaign "Safe Community"

The information campaign "Safe Community" is being conducted in remote communities of the right-bank Kherson region in partnership with the "Union" Foundation and the National Police of Kherson Region.

As part of this campaign, the police are distributing reflective flickers among residents of the Kherson Region.

These small but extremely important elements help make pedestrians, cyclists, and other road users visible at night and in conditions of limited visibility.

Experts claim that flickers reduce the risk of road accidents by 85%, especially in winter, when the days are shorter and visibility deteriorates due to weather conditions.

For example, when driving with a low beam, a pedestrian's visibility is 25-30 meters, and if a person’s clothing has a reflective element, it increases to 130-140 meters. A driver driving in a car with a high beam turned on can see the flicker from a distance of 400 meters.

According to experts, the best place to hang the flicker is at chest or hip level, but mostly, people attach reflective elements to their hands, briefcases, or handbags.

This is just one of the small steps towards a safer life in our communities, but such steps can create big changes. Join us and take care of your safety and the safety of your loved ones.

The information campaign "Safe Community" is taking place within the framework of the initiative "Kherson region: public safety and recovery in conditions of change," implemented by the Kherson Regional Charity Foundation "Union" with the assistance of the UNDP Ukraine with the financial support of the Government of Denmark.
