The meeting of the Working Group on Public Safety and Recovery was held in the Bilozerka community

The eighth offline meeting of the Working Group on Public Safety and Recovery was held in the Bilozerka community.

It was an open dialogue between government representatives, public organizations, educational and medical institutions, police, and international partners to jointly plan the community's safe and cohesive future.

Over the past 2 years, within the framework of our Foundation's activities as the coordinator of the WGPSR in the Bilozerka Community, a number of initiatives have been implemented that were the result of discussions and planning.

Despite the worsening security situation, through joint efforts, the working group, with the support of partners UNDP Ukraine, managed to:

- equip the community police officer's office;

- support the local fire department with equipment;

- install new fire hydrants in villages;

- equip a resource and training center;

- launch a project to install a video surveillance system in the community;

- create two security classes;

- provide four underground community facilities with thermal panels, with the replacement of the ventilation system;

- install fire-fighting stands in communal facilities;

- transfer uninterruptible power supply systems to medical institutions;

- implement a project for separate garbage collection.

Also, during the meeting, new initiatives were discussed that will be prepared for implementation, such as expanding security infrastructure and youth and veteran support programs.

As a reminder, the WGPSR in the communities was created in the summer 2023 by orders of the heads of the military administrations within the framework of the initiative "Kherson region: public safety and recovery in conditions of change", implemented by the "Union" Foundation with the assistance of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine with the financial support of the Government of Denmark.
